The youths always stand by side of the people in different disasters and crises. They run to serve the people who are danger and extend helping hand towards the victims of any disasters. However, the eastern-western part of Bangladesh currently suffer from floods and the miseries of the flood victims knows no bound. In this this crisis, Netrokona’s Baluakandar Blood Bond Youth Organization, Kendua in the heart of Ashujiya, Fachika’s Agrogamy kishori organization, Paradurgapur’s prokriti and jibon Youth organization, Monobik Tree Lover A. Hamid Kabiraj’s Team, CNP stand by the side of the flood victims and extended helps to them.
Them members of the youths organizations distributed dry foods to the flood victims from different areas of Netrakona district and take the victims to shelter centers to save life.
However, the people of the haors, hills and plains of Netrokona are lost today due to natural and man-made disasters. The villages are flooded and no dry lands to take shelter. People suffer from different problems such as foods, drinkable mater and shelter. The areas such as Khaliajuri, Mohanganj, Barhatta, Atpara, Kendua, Netrokona Sadar, Purbadhala, Durgapur villages or cities or municipalities are under water today. Human and animal deaths are happening. People are taking shelter in a safe place with their resources, livestock and food. Due to the flood about Tk. 100 crore worth of cultivated land has been washed away by the flood waters.
Ridoye Kendua Youth Organization has distributed food aid and relief items to the flood victims in Gopalpur and Sarpara villages with the help of the Chairman of Ashujia Union. Other youths organizations also have done the same thing for the flood affected people in the area such as members of Netrokona CPN and Sammilita Sangskritik Sangathan have stood by the side of the people who are flood victims by collecting around Tk. 57 thousands from shops, educational institutions and wealthy people.
On the other hand, discussing with the representatives of the youth’s organizations Madan Dakshin Para, Uchitpur and Kuliati youth organizations took initiatives to distribute candles, coils, food saline, medicines to the flood affected people at Uchitpur and Gobindshree villages. The members said, “We are students, we do not have the capacity to cooperate, but we are trying to be by the side of the victims as much as possible and we will continue our efforts.”
In the meantime, Madan Upazila UNO was contacted when some members of the organization expressed their desire to be by the side of the flood victims as volunteers. He welcomed and added to the relief distribution activities. Livestock Resources Officer Mohammad Masudur Rahman said that information on livestock diseases and vaccination camps have been collected and necessary vaccinations have been provided. He sought BARCIK’s cooperation in this regard. The youth have stood by side of the people in all types of disasters of the country. The role of the youth in this flood is also praiseworthy.
