With the support of BARCIK and the initiative of the traditional Madan Upazila, over 400 climate-resilient and ornamental tree saplings were recently planted with the participation of Nabadhara, Sabuj Sanghati, Students Forum, Madan United Youth Society, and the students of Abdul Aziz Khan Degree College.
During the tree planting event, Madan Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Shah Alam Mian, the Principal of Haji Abdul Aziz Degree College, Agriculture Officer Habibur Rahman, Social Service Officer, Army Officers, representatives of Green Coalition, tree lover Abdul Hamid Kabiraj, representatives of Nabadhara, Students Forum, Youth Organizations, teachers, students, and other distinguished local individuals were present.
In order to enhance the beauty along the roadsides, they planted 300 saplings of Krishnachura, Almond, Sonalu, Kanchan flowers, and palm trees. Additionally, 200 saplings of Hijol and Koroch trees were planted along the Uchipur embankment to mitigate the effects of natural disasters. The tree plantation efforts were actively supported by tree enthusiast Abdul Hamid Kabiraj, along with Roni Babu and Kamruzzaman Talukder, representatives from the traditional Madan Upazila, and other members of the organization.
Witnessing the native tree plantation led by the youths UNO Officer of Madan Upazilla said, “I congratulate the youth organization of Madan and BARCIK for initiating the planting of climate-resilient trees and beautifying the area. We must all work together to protect the environment. We live in this environment, and we need to build a green earth by planting trees.”
